Dating
Hello everyone! This has been a really fun week, and I'm excited to talk about some FUN topics with you all. We're going to be talking about dating, attraction, and other exciting topics!
First, we're going to talk about how dating has changed over the years. People in this generation don't actually go on real dates. They "hang out". Hanging out is not the same as dating. When you go on a date you have a planned activity, it's paid for and you're paired off with someone. It's not a big group and you don't know who you're supposed to be on a date with. Activities, where you don't have to pay, are fine, but just as long as it is an actual activity. Lounging and watching tv or homework is not a date. The way you establish the date establishes the entire relationship. Knowing what the expectations is vital in dating. People usually have their own patterns, and they don't change them. That's why it is so important to date a while, and get to know the person.
To get to know someone there are three main categories. Togetherness, time, and talk. These three things help us START to know each other. Togetherness means to do a wide variety of shared activities. Talk is a mutual self-disclosure. If it's not revealing important things about you or the other person it's not self-disclosure. It takes three months time to BEGIN to start to get to know someone.
The next topic I would like to discuss with you all is the RAM, which stands for Relationship Attachment Module. Know, trust, rely, commit, touch is five aspects of a relationship. If we keep all aspects balanced you feel like you can trust the person you're in a relationship with. The link below provides access to the RAM module. Check it out!
