My First Post. The Importance of Having children
Hello friends! This is my first ever post on a blog! I'm really excited to share with everybody some of my views on some specific and even controversial topics. Through-out my blogging journey I'm going to be sharing many different topics regarding the family. One topic I would like to share with everyone today is the importance of having children. Growing up in the LDS (Mormon) religion I believe that the family should consist of a married husband and wife and children. I'm very grateful to have had the opportunity to grow up in such an amazingly organized church that believes the same doctrine and principles no matter what chapel you attend. No matter where you go the Gospel is the same. This is the same with believing that marriage should consist of a man and woman, and that children should come next. I don't want to just share my beliefs though. I want to share with everyone the research and statistics that show why having a married man and woman is the best possible structure for raising children.
To start I would love to discuss some of the myths about marriage, and how the concept of marriage, family, and children have changed over the years. In the video The New Economic Reality: Demographic Winter (link provided on the bottom of post) provides information on how fertility rates and birth rates have decreased and what they'll be looking like in the future as well. They're long videos, but I PROMISE, worth your time.
These videos helped shape my perspective on what the future looks like. I always wondered what the world would be like when my own children would come to this earth and grow up. The truth is that there are consequences of people not having children. Just like the conclusion the video suggests, if we do not recover from our decreased fertility rates, the world is going to be in trouble. It will be very difficult for people and families to maintain the standard of living that we're used to. I encourage everyone to watch the videos.
If the decrease in fertility rates will change our standard of living in the future, it makes sense to say that our wonderful earth is not to crowded and over-populated. There are absolutely more people on the planet then ever before, but research shows that we're not over populated. There is a study that I learned about that says if you figure the area of Texas and divide it by the worlds population we could fit earths population in Texas, and every home can have a few a acres of land. Pretty amazing! I've provided the link at the bottom of this page as well!
Well that's all for this week! Join me next week for more insights and research on fun, and interesting topics. Feel free to comment and share with others. Love you all!
