Parenting
Hello everyone! This week is a fun topic that I love discussing. It's parenting! Feel free to leave comments and get a discussion going!
The first thing I want to start with is how important parents are in their children's lives. They set the foundation for everything in their children's lives. A parents responsibility in raising their children is encouraging them to be the best they can be and to shape them into who they are meant to be.
All children are ar born with different personality types and different temperaments. This is why it is so important for parents to individualize their parenting with all their children. Every child is different and will need that individualization that is best for them.
Another very important part of parenting is to help the child feel like they belong. Involve the child in different discussions that affect the family. They love it! Also, young children love to help and learn new things. For example, sweeping and cooking they love the idea of contributing it helps them feel like they belong.
Another important thing for children is physical touch. This includes hugs and kisses. Touch and contact are very essential to young children. It helps them feel loved and cared for and is essential for their growth in a positive way.
It's also important for parents to teach their children that there are natural consequences for our actions, and sometimes the best way to teach this is for the natural consequence to take place. It's hard to do sometimes because as a parent it is natural to want to shield and protect our children from things. If the natural consequence isn't too dangerous, or the consequence wouldn't be too far in the future, and it is not harmful to other people then as parents we need to let our children understand that there are consequences to our actions.
The most important thing we can do for our children is to love them and to teach them to develop respect, and to raise them to prepare for eternal life, and become Christlike and to gain those attributes. You can never show to much love, respect, support, contact, and guidance. You can never get enough of what you don't need because what you don't need won't satisfy you.
